GET INVOLVED! Join a committee and experience building key relationships with our corporate/government members and women businesses while supporting our mission.

Our committees play a vital role in assisting our staff with the development and delivery of insightful programming and events. Each Committee is strategically focused on essential areas of the organization by serving as advisors and active supporters. GWBC is a great place to volunteer!

Engagement

The Engagement Chair oversees and serves as a liaison to the GWBC Board for the following committees and sub-committees: Events, Diplomats, Certification, Programs and Mentor Protégé. All committee reports will be submitted to the Engagement Chair to report to the board for updates or action items that require board approval at board meetings and the annual board retreat.

Events Committee

Assists GWBC Events Manager with planning and executing GWBC scheduled events. E.g. Tables of 8, breakfast meetings, and signature events (POP Too, Top Corporations, POP Marketplace and LACE Awards).

Diplomats Committee

Provides ambassador/hostess assistance at GWBC signature and quarterly events.

Mentor Protégé

This committee works by collaborating with successful WBEs and Corporate Members to serve as dedicated mentors and subject matter authorities for WBEs looking to maximize their business growth. The Program fosters an environment that allows WBEs to receive and share invaluable and trusted business counsel from mentors in a variety of areas, including Sales and Marketing, Financial Planning, Human Resources, Strategic Thinking, Sustainability and Succession Planning.

Awards & Recognition Committee

Assures that GWBC celebrates the success of constituency through a robust recognition program. Facilitates awards criteria, process, and selection of awardees. Validates the integrity and protocols associated with the development of criteria and the review, judging, and selection of awardees.

LACE Awards & Top Corporations Awards

Programs Committee

Assists the Programs Manager with the development and implementation of relevant and robust educational programs and resources for WBEs and corporate members.

Certification Committee

Responsible for new certification applications and local appeals reviews as well as site visits per the WBENC (Women Business Enterprise National Council) certification standards.

Advocacy

The Advocacy Chair oversees and serves as a liaison to the GWBC board for the following committees and sub-committees: The Voice and Public Policy (New). All committee reports will be submitted to the Advocacy Chair to report to the board for updates or action items that require board approval at board meetings and the annual board retreat.

Public Policy

This committee will advocate for business and legislative issues that may impact our women businesses in the states of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Key recommendations will be made to the GWBC Board of Directors for discussion and approval. Members of the Public Policy Committee will represent GWBC at selected legislative invitations and events.

The Voice Forum

The Voice Forum’s mission is to promote, translate and advocate the needs, issues, and benefits of the certified WBEs. The goal is to facilitate business and education opportunities for all qualified and certified participants of the Greater Women’s Business Council. This committee also creates a platform for WBEs to communicate ideas that positively impact the growth and development of their businesses.

Sustainability

The sustainability chair oversees and serves as a liaison to the GWBC board for the following committees and sub-committees: Board Development, Revenue Generation, Awards & Recognition and Technology. All committee reports will be submitted to the Sustainability Chair to report to the board for updates or action items that require board approval at board meetings and the annual board retreat.

Revenue Generation Committee

Develops revenue-generating initiatives and secures financial support to underwrite GWBC Events, Programs, and financial goals.

Marketing Committee

Assist in directing the overall comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. Help to oversee a consistent and active communication strategy to all stakeholders for the purposes of recruitment, program messaging, revenue generation, awareness and branding.

Technology Committee

Collaborate with staff to assess GWBC®’s technology requirements and needs. Analyze and recommend technology/cyber security resources to support daily operations.
