“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world.” Harriet Tubman
The quote above is particularly poignant given the fact that Harriet Tubman was born into slavery. The odds were against her from the onset, but she escaped, made 13 missions to rescue 70 slaves via the Underground Railroad and later became America’s first woman to lead an armed expedition for the Union Army in the Civil War. She certainly did her part to change the world.
With Black History Month kicking off today, it’s important to remember the contributions of Black Americans and especially Black women who continually push the boundaries to not only achieve great success but also change the world. GWBC is planning to launch several new programs to help all women entrepreneurs, including women of color, accelerate their businesses. Stay tuned for more details!
February is also packed with celebrations for Valentine’s Day and – more importantly – Galentine’s Day, and don’t forget American Heart Month. Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women? With the hours and stress that can come with being an entrepreneur, be sure that you are taking care of yourself so you can continue to grow your business, be there for your family, contribute to your community, and most important have some fun time for you!
On the heels of February is the largest conference of its kind for women business owners – that’s right, the 2023 WBENC Annual Conference, March 20 – 23 in Nashville, Tennessee.
